Evansville, Indiana — The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and the Knights of Columbus are proud to announce the 10th Annual Friday Knights Hunger Bowl, taking place on Friday, September 11, 2026, during the highly anticipated football rivalry between Mater Dei High School and Memorial High School.
For ten years, the Friday Knights Hunger Bowl has united our community around two powerful traditions: supporting local student-athletes and ensuring our neighbors have enough food to eat. Every dollar raised through sponsorships and donations directly benefits the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, helping provide food assistance to families across Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, and Gibson Counties.
The need has never been greater. The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry serves more than 100 households each day, providing a four-day supply of food and hygiene items to individuals and families facing hardship. Proceeds from the Hunger Bowl help keep pantry shelves stocked and ensure that no family must choose between food and other necessities.
“The Hunger Bowl represents the very best of our community,” said Ashley Newell, Executive Director of the District Council of Evansville Society of St. Vincent de Paul. “Friendly competition on the field becomes real support for families in need off the field. Every sponsorship helps us provide meals, dignity, and hope to our neighbors.”
Over the past decade, the Friday Knights Hunger Bowl has become more than a football game—it has become a community tradition that transforms school spirit into tangible support for local families.
