Princeton and Gibson Southern Unite to Fight Hunger at the 2nd Annual Friday Knights Hunger Bowl- Gibson County

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Rivalries will take on a greater purpose this fall as Princeton Community High School hosts Gibson Southern High School for the 2nd Annual Friday Knights Hunger Bowl- Gibson County on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.

More than a football game, the Friday Knights Hunger Bowl is an opportunity for two communities to come together in support of neighbors facing food insecurity. Proceeds raised through sponsorships and event fundraising will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, helping provide nutritious food and essential household items to families throughout the region.

“The Friday Knights Hunger Bowl- Gibson County demonstrates what can happen when communities unite around a common goal,” said Dr. Ashley Newell, Executive Director of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul District Council of Evansville. “Friendly competition on the field becomes compassion in action off the field, ensuring local families have access to the food they need.”

Businesses, organizations, and community members are invited to become event sponsors. Sponsorships directly support the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and demonstrate a commitment to strengthening the local community while gaining visibility among hundreds of attendees.

Whether cheering from the stands, sponsoring the event, or helping spread the word, everyone has an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger.
