Pray for Our Sisters & Brothers

Vincentians and all people called on to pray for the people of Puerto Rico & the Virgin Islands

The following message was forwarded to us from David Barringer, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Council of the United States Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Inc.

Mr. Barringer shares, “I am forwarding a message to you from Liz Disco-Shearer, CEO of our new Disaster Services Corporation, regarding our Vincentian brothers and sisters:

Dear Vincentians,

Please pray for our Vincentians and the people in the path of Hurricane Maria which is now a CAT 5.

I was on the phone today with our Vincentian leadership in Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands ( while on the ground at Irma’s point of impact in the Diocese of Venice) and our people are scared to death and exhibiting symptoms of PTSD.

We are doing all we can to support them. We have gotten a Google map pin, so that we will know their location. There is really nowhere to evacuate to.

We cannot send them funds, as there are no supplies to purchase. We have had to drop ship items.

Please hold them in prayer.
